In curating our house, choosing our products, selecting our designers, and handcrafting our wears we define our aesthetic through developed themes of passion and prestige. Steeped in emotional design our philosophy is: Romance, Nostalgia, & Poetry in Cloth.
Romance…
Romance: A feeling ruled by passion and desire. Mystery, glamour, excitement: Romance is the journey we take into uncharted territories real and imagined while we explore ourselves in tandem with another. Personified, Romance might be a Travel Agent, a globe trotter, the spirit of wanderlust. In this, we classify Romance as bohemian, eclectic, and a symposium of cultured design using African and European laces, Eastern embroidery, silks, and simple or classic cuts. Our Designers representing our interpretation of Romance are listed:
Claire Pettibone: Blending silks in color pearl, powder blue, blush, champagne, and ivory with thread painted embroideries, European fabrics, dimensional laces, hand beaded details, organza flower petals, and butterfly embroideries; Claire Pettibone gowns transport the soul throughout universes real and imagined.
nostalgia…
Nostalgia: A sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, a time period or place with happy personal associations. For us Nostalgia is modern vintage, heirloom pieces, heritage collections, and a mix of something old, something new, and something borrowed.
Grace June: An in-house collection of custom pieces made from a mix of antique, vintage, and new fabrics, embroideries, and embellishments. Each piece created is a one-off and may not be able to be exactly replicated.
Custom Adornments: Gee June Bridal began as a design studio who specialized in making custom bridal jackets, belts, veils, garters, hair pieces, and adornments from the parts and pieces of family heirlooms. We continue to honor these roots.
poetry in cloth…
Poetic: Expressive, Fluid, Rhythmic. Our poetic pursuit for ‘Poetry in Cloth’ is fleshed out as a symbolic aesthetic with an imaginative or sensitively emotional style of expression. Poetry is simple in its lines, dramatic in its prose, and weighted in its meaning. Poetry in Cloth is simple in its cut, dramatic in its silhouette, and weighted in its statement to put its lady’s portrait first.
Rebecca Schoneveld: A Designer who specializes in customization, Rebecca Schoneveld gowns are literally and entirely made for the lady who commissions her piece for wear.
